HOS Flat Renovation: 粉嶺景盛苑賢景閣

This project is a 30-year-old Home Ownership Unit. The owner requires a "full blast" renovation, which means renovating the entire house, requiring redesigning partitions and replacing windows. The biggest challenge of this renovation project is the time limit, because second-hand HOS flats have a specific renovation period, and replacement of windows in HOS flats requires some additional applications. As a result, the renovation time is very tight. The designers and masters only have two months to complete all renovations.

This time, in addition to custom-made built-in furniture, the homeowners also purchased feather lamps and base cabinets online. Designers need to customize furniture based on the homeowner's existing furniture, so that the new design can perfectly match the furniture. The owner's furniture is mainly dark brown and off-white, so the designer set the main tone of the whole house to earth tones, and used warm-toned lighting to create a comfortable atmosphere and unify the style of the home. The walls are made of seamless slate, and the designer added large and small light troughs between the TV cabinets and storage cabinets, which enhances the design of the home.

In this home renovation project, the designer re-imagined the space division for the owner, and transformed his son's room from two rooms into one room. A display cabinet is placed in the living room to display the owner's models and collections. Because his son loves to play drums, he has extremely strict requirements on sound insulation. Therefore, in order to achieve good sound insulation effect, the designer specially selected a relatively novel sound insulation strip in the son's room, combined with the design of a solid door, so that the son will not disturb his family or even neighbors even when he is playing drums.

The designer customized the hydraulic bed to meet the homeowner's home storage needs. A dark brown color was chosen to match the base cabinets purchased online by the homeowner. There is a spacious storage space under the bed board, which can accommodate various items, which not only satisfies the sense of design, but also provides practical storage function. This design is both beautiful and practical, and perfectly blends into the homeowner's furniture and living space.

In addition, the bedside tables and living room storage cabinets adopt a C-shaped design. Both the upper and lower cabinets can be used as storage space, while small decorative objects can be placed in the middle of the cabinet to make the home more expressive of the homeowner's personal characteristics. All cabinet doors are uniformly made of off-white. This design makes the entire home furniture more unified and makes the home look brighter.

This home renovation project demonstrated the designer's decoration and design results within a limited time, and completed comprehensive renovation projects such as window replacement, custom-made furniture, and redesigned layout within a tight time limit. Through flexible space division and custom-made furniture, we have successfully created a comfortable and personalized home environment. Combined with the owner's existing furniture, it adds more unique charm and characteristics to the home.
