Unit area: 356 sq. ft.

Project Description

New Kwai Fong Garden is a residence with a history of more than 30 years. This 356-square-foot two-bedroom unit has been completely renovated with a limited budget of more than 300,000. Except for the aluminum windows, all spaces have been completely renovated. This renovation mainly includes the kitchen, toilet, door, light trough, floor and a set of display cabinets in the living room. The design concept aims to make full use of every inch of space and adopt a simple and luxurious style to make the overall atmosphere comfortable and tasteful.

The original kitchen space of New Kwai Fong Garden was small. After clever renovation by the designer, the dining room was transformed into a second kitchen space. The designer moved the refrigerator to the dining room to facilitate the flow between the two spaces. The cabinets at the corners of the dining room are designed with rounded corners, which reduces the risk of collision and improves the safety of use.

The kitchen and dining room use wood and off-white tones to make the overall design more unified and harmonious. This integration not only improves the sense of visual space, but also makes it more convenient for homeowners to use the kitchen, thereby improving living comfort.

Another major feature of this unit is the "glasses room" layout, with two bedrooms next to the TV in the living room. The designer uses irregular straight background walls and hidden secret doors to create a space that is both beautiful and practical. There is a small gap between the beam in front of the bedroom door and the door. In the old design, this space was completely closed. In the new design, the designer cleverly installed light troughs in the four-inch space of the beam. The light is emitted through the gap, making the living room more stylish and effectively utilizing the seemingly imperfect space.

In the bedroom, the designer customized a floor cabinet to raise the floor bed parallel to the window sill. The bed becomes a spacious storage space, maximizing the use of space. This design is not only beautiful, but also practical, perfectly meeting the living needs of modern urbanites.

As buildings age, water seepage problems are not uncommon in residential buildings such as New Kwai Fong Garden. Designers and decorators repaired the ceilings of the kitchen and toilets, properly dealt with peeling and bursting concrete, and installed false ceilings to resist the effects of moisture and ensure the comfort and safety of the living environment.
