Unit area: 853 sq. ft.
Project Description
Getting more living space in your residential unit doesn’t necessarily require extensive modifications. In the residential renovation project of Huangpu Garden Phase III, through the design of the interior designer and consultation with the guests, more space can be freed up even if the original layout of the residence is retained.
Based on the owner's living habits and personal preferences, he hopes to retain the layout and spacing of the residential unit, but at the same time pursue a larger living space. In order to meet the needs of the guests, the designer only changed the design of the hidden door and chose Scrigno concealed sliding door to save space and retain the original appearance of the residential units in Whampoa Garden Phase 3.
Scrigno sliding doors have a unique selling point, which is that they are easy to maintain. The rails of general sliding doors may be damaged or distorted due to long-term use and the influence of gravity. These sliding doors are often blocked by fixed wardrobes or other furniture and are difficult to repair. However, the design of Scrigno concealed sliding door is different. It has the function of replacing a wall. The patented rail structure and movable part can be easily pulled out for maintenance. In addition, the entire rail structure is connected to a fixed frame that sits on the ground to ensure that the rails will not deform.
The biggest renovation of the entire unit was the head of the household’s daughter’s room, which included changing the location of the door and custom-made Scrigno sliding doors. Her room only has less than 80 feet of space. After using sliding doors, the designer was able to customize furniture such as a platform bed, bookcases, and dressing tables to meet her daily needs. On the contrary, the room of the son of the head of the household was not changed much. His room was rectangular, and the designer initially suggested placing the bed sideways to gain more space. However, the son didn't want to make too many changes. Therefore, after consulting with the owner of the household, the designer decided to retain the original layout of the son's room and only used Scrigno concealed sliding doors to gain more space.
In this residential renovation of Whampoa Garden Phase 3, the designers also solved the long-standing problems of moisture and mold in the units. Mold often appears in the master bedroom and son's room. The designer chose to use artistic paint from Europe, which has a smooth surface, similar to plastic, and can resist moisture and mold problems even in the third phase of Huangpu Garden residences near the seaside, and is easy to clean. Don’t be sloppy when it comes to choosing which art paint to use. The designer has specially customized more than ten brand-new samples for householders to choose from, including different colors, textures, glossy and matte surfaces, etc., so that householders can choose the most satisfactory artistic paint.
In addition, the designer also customized some furniture to meet the needs of the household owners. For example: According to the figure of the head of the household, shorter kitchen cabinets are tailor-made to facilitate the use of the smaller female head of the household. When customizing furniture, the designer also perfectly met the requirements of the household owner and solved the original problems at the same time. For example: a new one was customized based on the original TV cabinet, and different materials were used to improve the connection between the back panel of the TV cabinet and the cabinet surface, making the cabinet and shelves more stable.
This residential renovation project in the third phase of Huangpu Garden has successfully met the needs of the household owners, not only retaining the original layout and spacing, but also creating a larger space for activities. Interior designers pay attention to every detail in the unit, striving to bring maximum effect with minimal changes and make full use of every inch of space.
