HOS Flat Renovation Design: 啟鑽苑

Unit area: 391 sq. ft.

Project Description

As more and more new HOS flats are completed, HOS flat decoration becomes an even more important issue for new homeowners. Especially in Hong Kong's new home ownership homes, where space is smaller, both designers and homeowners want to maximize the use of space. In this home decoration design project of Kai Chun Court, the designer made full use of all indoor spaces as the premise and saved space by custom-making different furniture to ensure that every space in the interior can be utilized.

The usable area of the unit in Kai Chuan Court is 330 square feet. Considering the living needs of the owner and two elderly people, the designer needs to divide a room in the living room for the two elderly people to live. In order to meet this requirement, the designer changed the layout of the original unit and reversed the positions of the kitchen and toilet, thereby making the unit more convenient for the owner's daily life.

In addition, a total of 3 sets of sliding doors are used in the whole house, two of which are Italian Scrigno sliding doors. The advantage of this kind of sliding door is that the entire door can be completely sunk into the wall without occupying any space, making the use of indoor space more flexible and achieving the goal of utilizing all indoor spaces.

At the same time, taking into account the spacing restrictions of the small room, the designer designed a ventilation position on the top of the TV cabinet in the living room so that the air-conditioning in the living room can be pumped into the small room, solving the problem of poor air circulation and reducing the visual pressure.

In addition, in terms of material selection, carbon crystal panels are used in the kitchen and toilet. This material is hard and wear-resistant, fireproof, moisture-proof, environmentally friendly and formaldehyde-free. The installation of carbon crystal panels is also relatively quick. Through the combination of gusset plates, even the corners can have a seamless effect, and they are more durable than ordinary painted walls. In addition, carbon crystal panels also provide a variety of color and material options, such as wood grain, stone grain, and plaster, etc., which not only add to the beauty of home decoration, but also can match different home styles.

In order to make full use of the space, the designer chose to customize furniture, especially using double-sided cabinets as partitions. Due to space constraints, there is not enough room for a wardrobe in the room. Therefore, the designer used the space above the custom-made C-shaped cabinet as a wardrobe. The cabinet on the other side is close to the door of the unit. There is another C-shaped space in the middle for the owner to place keys, phones and other items. The lower part of the cabinet is used as a shoe cabinet. This design not only separates the living room and bedroom, but also realizes multi-functional storage needs in a limited space.

The platform room is also the focus of this home decoration design. The designer chose to customize the platform throughout the room, and each staircase can be opened independently and used for storage. The platform bed also uses a hydraulic bed frame, which is labor-saving and safe when opening the bed board. The floor room adds a lot of storage space to the original room. The space under the bed is enough to accommodate a large suitcase, making perfect use of every inch of the room.

In summary, the designers in the Kai Chuan Court HOS home decoration design project used a variety of strategies to maximize the use of space while making the home have a sense of design. Every detail in the home has been carefully considered by the designer, such as custom-made sliding doors and double-sided cabinets, the use of carbon crystal plate walls, etc., in order to provide the homeowner with a home that is both practical and aesthetic.
