Project Description

Chun Man Court is a Home Ownership Housing Estate located in Ho Man Tin. Although it has a good location and is even known as the "King of Home Ownership Housing Estates", it is actually 43 years old. This time, the interior designer carried out a home renovation and decoration design project for the customer, which solved the troubles and problems caused by the old building.

The unit area of this Chun Man Court Home Ownership House is about 400 square feet and has 3 rooms. The original condition of the home was very bad. For example, half of the unit had no electricity supply, causing some lights to not light up properly. In addition, the windows are also very old and have water seepage problems. Whenever it rains, rainwater will seep into the room from the edges and corners of the windows. The homeowner hopes to solve the above problems through renovation and make the home more stylish.

In order to improve the water seepage problem, the designers first replaced the windows. Considering that the unit is located on the lower floor of the building and there is a lot of noise from the nearby road, double-glazed windows were chosen to help with sound insulation. At the same time, this also solved the problem of water seepage. Even after a "once-in-500-year" rainstorm, there was no more water seepage in the house. However, the success of window replacement also depends largely on the skill of the aluminum window craftsman. If the master can use enough sand to fill the gap between the wall and the aluminum window, it can perfectly prevent rainwater from flowing into the room. Therefore, the designer has been hiring the same team of aluminum window masters for more than ten years to ensure high-quality decoration results.

As for the kitchen of Junmin Court, the designer customized kitchen cabinets for the guests and transformed it into an open kitchen. The original L-shaped kitchen was also transformed into a U-shaped kitchen. In addition, the bathroom doorway was changed to face the kitchen, providing enough space for the bathroom to place a 5-foot-wide tabletop. Due to the limited area of the original bathroom, only about 20-inch basins could be placed, and there was no additional tabletop for the owner to place daily necessities. At the same time, having a large desktop has been the homeowner's wish for many years. This modification has fulfilled the guest's wish and made the entire space more practical.

The owner has two young children, so the design was designed with their needs in mind. In order to prevent the wall from being scratched by children, the wall behind the sofa in the living room is made of ecological boards, which also avoids frequent maintenance. A platform bed was customized for the master room, and the entire room was filled with customized platform beds and cabinets to meet the owner's needs for rest and storage space.

In addition, the design of the bedroom and living room is also very unique. The bedroom matches the ecological wall of the living room, which looks like a big box, perfectly separating the living space of the living room and the resting space of the bedroom. This design brings a very rich visual effect, as the entire space is divided into left and right sides from the middle, with clear divisions.

This home renovation and decoration design project of Chun Man Court solved the original problems of the old building for the owner, such as water seepage and noise problems from the windows, and also improved the practicality and beauty of the space. This home renovation project allows the owners to enjoy a more comfortable and modern residential environment. The custom-made platform bed and open kitchen design also meet their wishes and needs over the years.
