Residential Design
Residential Design: 黃埔花園九期
Unit area: 650 sq. ft.
Project Description
Residential design is like magic, always turning decay into magic, and any unit can become people's ideal home. Just like the owners of the units in Huangpu Garden Phase 9, the original decoration brought a lot of inconvenience to their lives and greatly reduced the residents' activity space. During the period, they experienced one decoration and failed to fully achieve their ideals. Finally, after we negotiated several times, they were willing to try again and have the courage to realize their ideal home dream.
First of all, as a mother, the kitchen is definitely the most important part of the home. In the past, kitchens only had a small L-shaped worktop, which was difficult to meet the daily needs of a family. At the same time, the washing machine is placed in the main toilet, which makes the tub in the main toilet very narrow, which brings a lot of inconvenience to the relatively muscular male owner.
After the renovation, the washing machine was relocated to the kitchen and the kitchen countertop was changed from L-shaped to U-shaped. The work space was greatly increased, and there was also a row of wall cabinets above, providing ample storage space. A marble wall adds style and richness to the entire kitchen, making the kitchen look neater and neater.
The design of our daughter’s bedroom also shows the originality of our designers. In the past, my daughter's bedroom only had one side to get in and out of bed, and there was almost no room to walk after getting out of bed. My daughter has always wished for more space in the room, and even dreamed of having a "three-sided bed" one day. Now my daughter's bedroom has become spacious. It is actually the former bedroom and study combined into one, making the space enough to realize the wish of "three-sided bed". However, the design of converting two rooms into one room also has a disadvantage, which is that it lacks a wall to place a wardrobe. Therefore, we used the wall position next to the window to create a U-shaped wardrobe, which gave our daughter’s room enough storage space without feeling oppressive.
In addition, in the diamond-shaped dining room, we used L-shaped cabinets to divide the dining room and kitchen space, and designed a large cabinet as high as the ceiling at the end of the L-shaped cabinet, forming a unique and practical pattern. This design not only creates a clear separation between the dining room and kitchen, but also greatly improves the practicality of the entire unit. The combination of the diamond-shaped unit design and the concave and convex L-shaped cabinets makes full use of the space in the home, and the residents have ample space for activities.
This renovation project of Huangpu Garden Phase 9 is our reinterpretation of space: relocating furniture to different spaces, converting two rooms into one room, making full use of cabinet and wall space, etc. These unconventional ideas and designs ultimately realize the owner's wishes one by one, turning the impossible into possible.
