Project Description

In this design project, our goal was to create a geography classroom that is both practical and beautiful, with wooden tones that blend in with the surrounding classrooms. In addition, the completion and handover of the geography room coincided with the change of the new principal of Xiehe Middle School. This gratitude and joy reflects the ever-changing school situation of Xiehe Middle School.

For geography, a natural science department, wood is the best interpretation. Entering the room from the door, the four walls are separated by wood-colored materials with different textures, creating a warm scene overall.

Among them, the wooden texture on the ground is thick and simple, the texture on the wall is clean and delicate, and the horizontal and vertical visual effects make people feel neat and orderly. But looking back at the classrooms around the geography room, they are all decorated with wooden textures. The geography room is decorated with more details in addition to the wooden tone. It not only highlights the unique positioning of the subject department, but also maintains respect for the environment. Just like the mountains, rivers and fields on the earth, the layers are clear and harmonious.

In order to achieve a design concept that is both practical and beautiful, we have also worked hard on details, and all teaching aids are available in the classroom. There is a large screen in the center of the classroom. There is a whiteboard on each side of the screen. There is a retractable projection screen in front of the two whiteboards. There are speakers hanging from the ceiling on both sides. The visually axially symmetrical pattern has a stable sense of balance.

Brightness is the vitality of a teaching classroom. Off-white wooden strips are dotted on the wooden walls and extend to the ceiling in a wavy arc shape, like lines on a world map. The striped ceiling forms an undulating rhythm, which not only breaks the dullness of the wood, but also brightens the space, and also shields and protects the circuits and equipment above. In the future, simple repairs and maintenance can be carried out without moving the original facilities. At the same time, in this square apartment, the white window sills and windows arranged in a row make the lighting in the classroom more fresh and bright.

Since it is a "geography room", a world map must be indispensable. In order to maintain the unified wooden tone and neat and square layout of the geography room, we hide the world map behind the wall in the form of magnetic stickers.

The design of this geography room project reflects both beauty and practicality in many details, and also integrates the characteristics of the geography discipline. We hope that this geography room can create a more open learning environment for teachers and students of Xiehe Middle School and add more color to the campus construction.
